Dr. Kaley Walker, professor of physics at the University of Toronto, is the guest speaker for the Physics Department colloquium. Walker's research areas are atmospheric, earth and planetary physics. Her talk is titled "Measuring Atmospheric Composition from Space with the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment: A Two-Year Mission That is Still Going After Almost 15 Years." This presentation will describe the results from the Canadian-led Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE), a scientific satellite mission using the solar occultation technique. The ACE satellite uses infrared and UV-visible spectroscopy to investigate the chemistry and dynamics of the Earth's atmosphere. 4 p.m. in Workman 101.
