The DOE’s WIPP Recovery Site contains event information such as the accident description, sampling results, and path forward information. In addition, this site provides news and updates including fact sheets, photo and video content, frequently asked questions, town hall meeting information, and WIPP documents such as stakeholder documents, accident investigation reports and presentation slides, technical assessment team investigation findings.

WIPP Waste Information System Public Inquiry Page

This site, published by the US DOE Carlsbad Field Office provides information via public inquiry for disposed containers of transuranic waste. Included on the site are a list of links for transuranic waste sites and oversight groups.

The Carlsbad Environmental Monitoring & Research Center (CEMRC) Site Wipp Monitoring Page

CEMRC is a division of the College of Engineering at New Mexico State University. Their WIPP monitoring project initiated during the WIPP pre-disposal phase and has continued during the operational phase. This group, independent of DOE oversight, conducts environmental research in the vicinity of WIPP and publishes results with the goal of informing the public and the environmental science community. Included on the page are radiological results from sediment and surface water sampling conducted after the WIPP Feb. 2014 incident.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Review of WIPP Incident

This site includes the EPA’s response to the 2014 WIPP release. The Technical Assessment Team (TAT) report is shared, along with the DOE’s response to EPA’s WIPP Inspection Report and WIPP Summary Report.
