Find Funding
Looking for your next opportunity? SPD helps you target the right fit, set alerts,
and plan a competitive path to submission.
Funding Databases
Use sponsor and aggregator tools to search by keyword, discipline, deadline, and eligibility.
SPD can set up saved searches and email alerts tailored to your interests.
Limited Submissions
Some opportunities limit how many proposals NMT may submit. SPD coordinates these
calls to ensure a fair, transparent selection.

Start Here
Send the opportunity link (or a few keywords) to proposals@nmt.edu. We will confirm fit, deadlines, and next steps.
Once a PI identifies a funding opportunity, the PI submits a Notice of Intent (NOI) to propose. SPD assigns a Research Administrator (RA) who will provide a proposal checklist and prepare the budget using the NMT budget template/tool. PIs are expected to read the full solicitation; the checklist is a supplement to, not a substitute for, sponsor guidelines. For collaborative proposals, the PI supplies contact information for all subrecipients. The PI also informs the RA of any human subjects or vertebrate animals involvement so that compliance requirements are addressed and the checklist is updated accordingly.
If you need a sponsor account (NSF, NIH, NASA, Grants.gov/Research.gov, etc.), email proposals@nmt.edu. Account creation is required for electronic submission.
Five (5) working days before the sponsor deadline
Email proposals@nmt.edu your RFP/FOA link and your current draft (narrative, budget, budget justification, biosketches, facilities, and any required forms) for compliance and completeness review.
Complete the Routing Sheet and begin signatures.
Complete the Research Compliance Pre-Proposal Form.
The PI confirms that all investigators have current RCR training, COI training, and COI disclosures. (Only the PI submits the compliance form at proposal stage, but all investigators must be current on training and disclosure.)
One (1) working day before the sponsor deadline (by 8:00 a.m.)
Release final files to SPD for institutional review and electronic submission.
Important
NMT supports all PIs; however, proposals delivered on the sponsor due date will not
be reviewed and may not be submitted.
