REMEMBER: Your library account and password are separate from your BanWeb account and your Academic Lab Login for ITC computers.
Log in to view your account. Your online library account allows you to submit Interlibrary Loan requests (ILL), view items you checked out, see when they're due, and renew them online. It also grants you access to the online resources provided by Skeen Library.
To gain access to your account, you must first activate it by setting up your password (click on the box labeled "Set/Reset Password"). You will receive an email at your NMT email address prompting you to create a password.
Our librarians offer library instruction tailored to the specific needs of you and your class(es), both in-person and virtually. You can request library instruction by filling out this form.
We also have research guides for each academic discipline, and can create course-specific research guides as well.
We strongly encourage you to read through this tutorial BEFORE submitting your Course Reserves request. Due to vendor limitations, the form is not as user-friendly or intuitive as we would like.
Faculty and instructors may place items (both physical and electronic) on reserve by filling out this form.
All purchase requests must be submitted by the department chair. Please remember all purchases for materials will be deducted from your department's annual allotment.
Our Cataloging and Acquisitions Department is responsible for ordering print and digital books and other physical media (CDs/DVDs/Blu-Rays) for Skeen Library.
For book requests made by NMT faculty and staff, please use this form.
NMT students may submit book suggestions by filling out this form.
For any questions regarding digital, print, or other physical media, please contact Dr. David Cox, Director, Skeen Library/OSL (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Skeen Library offers NMT Faculty the opportunity to easily search for Open Educational Resources (OER) through Faculty Select from EBSCO. Through a single interface, faculty can search and access quality open textbooks and request access to unrestricted library e-books from top academic publishers. By leveraging free open materials and low-cost library-licensed resources, faculty can transform their courses and reduce the cost burden for students.
NOTE: Faculty Select is a search engine and does not provide access to all of the resources you may find. In some cases, a purchase request may be necessary for you to obtain access. Requests to purchase resources found via Faculty Select are subject to the same requirements as a standard print acquisition request and must be approved by your department chair. Any purchases made through Faculty Select will count towards your department's annual library budget allotment. All requests will be sent to the appropriate staff member for review.
For easy access to Faculty Select, bookmark this link (please do not share with your students).
Upload your research materials to NMT's institutional repository, Zenodo.
For more information on how to create an account, upload your materials, and use Zenodo, click here.
NMT faculty are eligible to check out most items from our general collection until the end of the current (or upcoming, if during the summer) academic year. (DVDs may be checked out for 3 days, regardless of the patron type.)
In an effort to better serve you, Skeen Library offers a Faculty Renewal Program at the end of each Spring semester. All you need to do is make an appointment, and a staff member will meet you in your campus office to renew items you wish to keep and to pick up anything you want to return. This service does not extend to off-campus locations. If you are unable to make it to campus, please email email@example.com for assistance.
