Las Cruces Sun News reporter Algernon D'Ammassa reported on the Feb. 21, 2022, visit of U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich to New Mexico Tech's Playas Training and Research Center (PTRC). Former residences on the campus are used to simulate suburban environments for military and law enforcement tactical training and research. PTRC is managed by the Energetic Materials Research and Testing Center (EMRTC) of New Mexico Tech.
