PayScale.com Ranks NMT As No. 5 For ROI Nationally

SOCORRO, N.M. – The most recent rankings from PayScale.com show that New Mexico Tech leads the way for higher education return-on-investment in New Mexico by a wide margin. Nationally, PayScale ranks NMT No. 5 among all public universities on ROI by annual percentage (12.1%).

This ranking is an improvement on 2017, when NMT ranked No. 9 with an ROI of 11.6%.

NMT President Dr. Stephen G. Wells said the latest rankings from PayScale.com prove what Techies have known for decades – that an NMT degree is valuable commodity.

“New Mexico Tech prepares students for success in many ways,” Wells said. “Our graduates enter the workforce with hands-on research and laboratory experience that give them a clear advantage. The PayScale clearly position us alongside the top universities in the nation.”

PayScale.com reports that the average cost of earning a degree at NMT is $79,100, with the average debt of $19,400. Over a 20-year career, a typical NMT graduate will have a return-on-investment of $692,000, according to the website.
