New Mexico Tech Students, Staff Compete in Costume Contest

Multiple events, including Monster Mash and pumpkin carving, mark Halloween Weekend

SOCORRO, N.M. – Displaying their creative flair, New Mexico Tech students, faculty, and staff competed in the annual Halloween Costume Contest Oct. 28, 2022, held in the Fidel Center Atrium. The Center for Student Leadership and Engagement sponsored the competition, drawing everything from Disney characters to scary serial killers to pop culture phenoms and scenes from popular movies.

According to Michael Voegerl, director of Center of Student Leadership and Engagement and International Programs coordinator, the costume contest brought out “full-on Tech uniqueness at its best.” 

Tinkerbell

Other Halloween-themed events at New Mexico Tech include a pumpkin carving contest with the theme, “Stranger Things,” scary decor and menu selections in NMT Dining, and the annual Monster Mash Bash Oct. 29 featuring music, food, trunk or treat, and arts and crafts activities.
