Emergency Supply Sourcing & Manufacturing

https://nmcovid19.org

The Office of New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich’s Office, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and New Mexico Tech, in collaboration with other public and private partners, have come together during the COVID-19 pandemic to develop a resource and is linking up manufacturers and suppliers of much-needed equipment and supplies with health providers and First Responders.

The New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NM MEP), New Mexico Tech, and Air Force Research Lab — nonprofit organizations that serve manufacturers and innovators statewide — collaborated to create and monitor the website https://nmcovid19.org after personal protective equipment (PPE) shortages became apparent and manufacturing companies offered to fill the gaps. University of New Mexico, New Mexico State University, Northern New Mexico College and FUSE Makerspace at Central New Mexico College are also part of the collaborative.

New Mexico Tech’s effort is being coordinated by Dr. Danielle Turner and is focused on the production of hand sanitizer and face shields. Dr. Turner and the New Mexico Tech community are focused on providing aid to the Socorro County region and will expand to other areas in New Mexico in the future.

New Mexico Tech is developing an inventory of faculty, staff, and students who want to participate in this collaborative.
