What to do when your number is called: a COVID-19 vaccine information panel
Are you worried about getting the COVID-19 vaccine?
Or perhaps you would just like to know what your signing up for by getting a needle in your arm?
If so, please come join the NMT Biology Department for a vaccine information panel Monday, Feb. 22, from 3:40 to 5 p.m., geared toward faculty, staff, administration, and the broader NMT community. The panel will be moderated by the Biology Department assistant professor Dr. Joel Sharbrough. Panelists will include biology professors Dr. Tom Kieft and Dr. Snezna Rogelj, as well as post-doc Dr. Danielle Turner.
During this panel we will provide: (1) a brief history of successful vaccination campaigns and compare those historical events to the COVID-19 pandemic, (2) a primer on how the vaccine works and what it is made of, and (3) a discussion of the safety of the vaccine from the currently available data.
We will also answer a number of questions from the audience to help assuage concerns about vaccines in general and about the COVID-19 vaccines specifically. A second panel geared toward students will also be held on Thursday, March 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Additional details including a Zoom webinar registration link and a question solicitation form will be forthcoming, please keep an eye out!
