Suicide Prevention Training
The NMT Office of Counseling and Disability Services is offering a very important training for all staff members. The topic to be addressed is suicide prevention through QPR (Question. Persuade. Refer).
QPR is intended to teach those who are in a position to recognize the warning signs, clues, and suicidal communications of people in trouble and to act in such a way to prevent a possible tragedy. The training will help staff to know how and where to find help in a possible suicide crisis.
QPR training is intended to offer hope through positive action.
QPR is NOT intended to be a form of counseling or treatment.
The training session will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Tripp Room of the Skeen Library (room 212).
