NMT Academic Affairs has scheduled a series of events that for 2019 Faculty Development Week. Academic Affairs will also host two associated faculty receptions at the M-Mountain Grill at 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, and Friday, August 16. These are lots of fun and are a good way to get to know the new faculty members.
Academic Affairs will offer additional workshops during the year. All workshops will be held in the CITL (Speare 113), except where noted otherwise.
Wednesday, Aug 14
10 a.m. - noon: Assessment of student learning. This workshop will focus on program level assessment, with examples from College of Engineering programs. (Kevin Wedeward, Dean of Engineering; Aly El-Osery, Chair Electrical Engineering Department; Peter Mozley, Associate VP Academic Affairs.)
1 - 2:30 p.m.: What you need to know about Title IX. Faculty responsibilities for reporting sexual harassment cases, how Title IX investigations are conducted, resources available for students, faculty, and staff. (Peter Phaiah, Assistant VP Student University Relations and Title IX Coordinator.)
2:30 - 3:30 p.m.: Cheating in the classroom. How to detect, report, and reduce the likelihood of honesty violations. (Peter Mozley, Associate VP for Academic Affairs; and Aly El-Osery, Dean of Graduate Studies.)
