Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Celebration

New Mexico Tech and the Civil Air Patrol are hosting a special celebration titled “Apollo 11: Eyewitness to History.”

This presentation celebrates the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing with an eyewitness account of watching, hearing, and feeling the awesome power of the Saturn V rocket as it launched the Apollo 11 astronauts toward their rendezvous with the Moon.

Displays and activities will be provided by New Mexico Tech, the Civil Air Patrol, Magdalena Ridge Observatory, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and Spaceport America. The event also will feature an exhibit of astrophotography, a reception following the presentation, and door prizes.

The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Macey Center.
