Field Camp Information for NMT Students

Registration:

For New Mexico Tech students the six week course now consists of each of the following:

Collection, processing and interpretation of geological data from stratified rocks, collected by geologic mapping and other means. Presentation of geologic reports involving stratigraphic sections, maps, cross sections, and other data.  (Zimmerer)

Collection, processing and interpretation of geological data from landforms and unconsolidated regolith, collected by geologic mapping and other means. Presentation of geologic reports involving maps, cross sections, and other data. Students should register for this course in the spring semester.  (Harrison)

Collection, processing and interpretation of geological data from igneous, metamorphic and/or structurally complex rocks. Presentation of geologic reports involving maps, cross sections, and other data. Students should register for this course in the spring semester.  (Axen)

These three courses are offered consecutively each summer commencing in late-May and continuing through early-July without interruption.  While we anticipate that these courses will be taken consecutively by most students, they may be spread out over more than one summer as long as the prerequisites for each portion are met.

All registrations must be for the Spring 2020 semester.  Your field camp lab fees need not be paid until May 15, 2020 – just before field camp begins.  If you are a New Mexico Tech student on financial aid or if you expect financial aid for field camp, be sure that you visit the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible.
