Management Department Launches 'Studio G' to Promote Entrepreneurialship

New effort offers students all the assistance they'll need to start a new business

SOCORRO, N.M. –New Mexico Tech’s budding entrepreneurs now have a new avenue for taking their inventions to the marketplace.

NMT made an agreement with NMSU Arrowhead Center in December 2017 to open “Studio G.” Dr. Youngbok Ryu , of the Management Department is the champion for Studio G at New Mexico Tech. He hosted a tabling event in mid-January at the Fidel Center to familiarize students with Studio G’s offerings.

NMT initiated a new student entrepreneurship club to help grow the club. They have also set up the program application webpage at management.nmt.edu/studiog.

Studio G assistance is intended to solve any types of problems that student entrepreneurs face while planning and launching their own businesses. The resources available include legal consulting, accounting assistance, intellectual property advice from a patent law attorney, and other mentorship.

Studio G is completely free for NMT Students and recent graduates

Studio G Members receive:

  • Guidance from the NMT Management faculty.
  • Access to Arrowhead Center’s Enterprise Advisors – these include seasoned entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, marketing experts, engineer, and product developers that are available to help you launch your business.
  • Access to meeting rooms and work spaces for your business. (Undergoing development)
  • Access to great equipment and software – 3D Printer, 3D Scanner, Vinyl Cutter, Video Conferencing, AV equipment, Green Screen, Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks commercial version and more. (Under development)
  • Access to our Entrepreneurship Library with great resources for entrepreneurs. (Under development)
  • Funding opportunities and awards exclusive to Studio G members.
  • Opportunities to license technology from New Mexico State University.

Studio G is available to students and recent alumni from New Mexico Tech. Studio G services are provided to members for free, Studio G does not take ownership or equity in your business or technology. We provide shared office space at the Speare building on campus, business advising, and a wide variety of resources to help you launch your own business.
