Freshmen Attend Final Orientation And Start Moving In

First week of school dotted with special events

 

Dr. Wells addresses students at orientationSOCORRO, N.M. – New Mexico Tech welcomed incoming freshmen for the final orientation of the summer Friday, August 17. More than 370 students will start their college careers at NMT next week.

University president Dr. Stephen Wells (pictured at right) addressed the students at orientation in the morning before sending them off to register, settle into their dorms, and other activities.

The afternoon included a snow cone social, pizza party, and a focus group for parents.

Registration and orientation continue Saturday, along with games on the Athletic Field and a pool party in the evening for all students.

The fall 2018 semester officially begins Monday, August 20. The Student Activity Board, student clubs, and the university have a full slate of fun activities planned for next week. Movie nights, comedy night, s’mores, a rave, and many more activities are planned to kick off the school year.
